A DAV file is a video created by a DVR365 digital video recorder, such as the DSD304, DSD308, or DSD316 DVR. It incorporates modified MPEG compression and is saved in an encrypted format. DAV files are used for recording video captured by CCTV cameras.
DAV files are created by the SightBoss Central Station software installed on the DVR. They can be played back on a PC using the standalone PC DVR365 player software. Note that to open a .DAV file in the DVR365 player, you need to first click the play button, which opens the file open dialog.
