XAMLX files define a contract specifying the type of messages a hosted Workflow Service can send and receive. When started, the service uses the contract to communicate with a connecting program.
NOTE: Workflow services use the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) framework for enabling the sending and receiving of messages.
